Weekend

Well we headed west for the weekend and Auntie JoDee's lake. It ended up being a bit of a "long" car ride for 3 little kids as stated by Claire announcing that her "bottom was numb" as we pulled back into town tonight it definitely was a great time.  This was the first time since Labor Day we had been back to my hometown.

The weather was quite interesting on the way out to the lake as it was fogging for about 100 miles plus we had an amazing storm that evening marked by almost 2 hours of continual lighting and some torrential rain.  I was grateful that we were in a cabin and not a tent. Overall the kids traveled well with Michael probably being the least pleased about 300 miles in a car seat but who would expect differently for a 16 month old busy boy.

Claire was able to celebrate her birthday and got the Tinkerbell birthday cake that she requested specifically from her Auntie.  The party was fun even though it was cold.
The big kids and grown-ups played some Texas Hold-em so the kids decided that they should play also at their own table.

The weather did warm up enough for a bit of tubing and jet skiing but no one from our household dared to get into the water.

Michael was obsessed with the steps and had a hard time not climbing them constantly.  He loved Auntie's windows too.
